The Cilento National Park is the second park in Italy for size. It stretches from the Tyrrhenian Sea at the foot of the Apennines in Campania and Basilicata regions. Its ancient origins began in Roman times and continued up until the nineteenth century as the town has played a crucial role in Italian expeditions. The town of Sapri is a lively seaside resort where you can find all necessary facilities such as supermarkets, markets, hardware stores and numerous bars and restaurants. The town has a very large and modern railway station with fast trains to Naples and Rome.
