Coast Cilento Excursions
The Cilento National Park is the second park in Italy for size. It stretches from the Tyrrhenian Sea at the foot of the Apennines in Campania and Basilicata regions. Many villages are perched on the hills of the park, many of which have a structure of medieval times. It is the perfect place for those who enjoy walking and being around nature. Full of undeniable beauty, the exceptional historical and archaeological sites, parks and coasts overlook one of the cleanest seas in Italy. From Elea / Velia to the temples of Paestum to the Caves of Cape Palinuro and to the fishing village of Acciaroli, there is never a shortage of places to visit! Sapri, however, is considered the heart of the Gulf of Policastro. Its ancient origins began in Roman times and continued up until the nineteenth century as the town has played a crucial role in Italian expeditions. The town of Sapri is a lively seaside resort where you can find all necessary facilities such as supermarkets, markets, hardware stores and numerous bars and restaurants. The town has a very large and modern railway station with fast trains to Naples and Rome.
